Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life

The endocrine system produces hormones which are the tiny chemical messengers that make things happen in your body. It is an incredibly complex system, and high levels of one hormone can interfere with the action of other hormones.  For instance, when your stress hormone, cortisol, goes up, it interferes with progesterone getting to your cells. This keeps you from calming down.

A hormonal imbalance can significantly impact mood, sleep, appetite, and overall health. PMS is often the result of hormones out of balance. During peri-menopause and menopause there is a  natural decline of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone in your system. This can also create an imbalance in your system that can make you feel less like your usual self.

Research shows that women can successfully manage the symptoms associated with hormone imbalances with mind-body techniques like qigong or meditation.

Mindful awareness of your symptoms combined with adaptations in lifestyle and diet can help relieve symptoms associated with hormone imbalances.  Stress reduction, dietary choices, and supplements, as well as general exercise

and fitness can have a huge impact on your hormonal health and management.

Our goal is to help you develop an awareness of the physical, mental, and emotional transitions taking place so you can be an active participant in the health of your body, mind, and spirit.

*Although adaptations in lifestyle can help with the symptoms associated with hormone imbalance, It is important to visit your doctor to assess your hormone imbalances

as you age.
